For many groups who rely on Federal funds, times are tense.  The new GOP controlled House has 96 incoming members, many of whom were elected on cost cutting, deficit reducing platforms.  Groups such as the Public Broadcasting System and their advocacy association, the Association of Public Television Stations, are positioning to present their best case for the retention of budget funding to House members in the majority party.  To carry their message, groups are actively hiring influence firepower from GOP aides and Lobbying firms with ties to the Republican house members.
