Government Affairs Portfolio -This position is responsible for government affairs throughout all of New York. Given the complex business needs of the company, a key responsibility is maintaining and enhancing relationships with the Governor’s office, state agencies, legislative leadership, state legislators, Mayor’s office, city agencies, city-wide elected officials, five Borough Presidents, 59 Community Boards in Bronx and Brooklyn, and 51 City Council members as well as the U.S. Senators and congressional members representing New York. With input from Corporate Government affairs, this position will develop and execute comprehensive public affairs strategies, relating to key business initiatives such as deployment of new services, and franchising issues in 225 communities, including in the Bronx and Brooklyn. NY State Legislative & Regulatory -This position has primary responsibility for ensuring positive communications with the New York State legislature to maintain productive relationships for all of the company’s businesses. This position works closely with Corporate Government affairs and outside consultants to develop a legislative agenda for the company and to protect against unfavorable legislation. This position must track and understand all substantive issues involved with the legislation. To successfully manage the New York legislative agenda, the position must build the company relationships with key state legislative leaders.
